The DFS has proposed a regulation that changes the continuing education requirements for licensed title agents. The proposed action is an amendment of Part 20 of Title 11 NYCRR. The proposed rule change covers all brokers, agents and certain licensees but the following parts impact title agents.
The 15 hours of CE must include at least one hour of Insurance Law instruction, at least one hour of ethics and professionalism instruction, and at least one hour of instruction on diversity, inclusion and elimination of bias.
These requirements would apply to licensees whose license renews on or after April 1, 2022.
You can download the State Register and find the proposed rulemaking on “page 10”, the 17th page in the PDF document – https://dos.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2021/07/070721.pdf
